Dermaplane Aftercare
As discussed during your appointment, dermaplane causes photo-sensitivity. The following aftercare is not just a suggestion but is crucial for your protection:
Right After your treatment:
If you have errands to run after your treatment SPF has been applied, so avoid touching your face and still avoid full sun exposure.
If it is evening and you get to go home, SPF may have been unnecessary. Avoid touching and washing your face tonight.
Sleep on a fresh clean pillow case, avoiding animals in the bed.
The days following:

Skin should feel smooth and makeup glides on. Skin looks brighter.
Some clients may develop small bumps, appearing like irritation. This is not ideal but can happen with sensitive skin or bacteria. Contact me for assistance.
In the morning, no cleanse. Just splash cold water and apply the skincare recommended by your esty.
for the first few days, products should not include retinols, acids or exfoliation. Recommended: Azulene gel, Intense Recovery Hydration. Available at SoCo.
If you are going outside, use SPF 50+++ at minimum. Even if wearing SPF, avoid full sun exposure.
At night, wash with cleanser. Apply skincare as recommended, avoiding retinols, acids and exfoliation. Recommended: Azulene gel, Intense Recovery Hydration & Barrier Balm. Available at SoCo.
Follow this for the next 3-5 days...then as the days go on hair will begin to regrow.
After 2 weeks if may feel "stubbly". Hair is not growing back thicker. The hairs no longer have tapered tips. For most hair, especially fuzzy hair, regrowth is not a distraction.
